Carolyn Ann Powel, 76

Mrs. Carolyn Ann Powell, Collins, MS passed away on May 7, 2022.

 

Mrs. Powell was a good, honest, and hard-working woman who was loved by many.  She attended Carver Central High School, Collins. She retired from Covington County Hospital after over 20 years of service. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Powell and Rosie  Lee Jenkins; 4 brothers, Jerry and Terry Jenkins, Charles Brooks, and Jerry Powell.  one son, Rodney Powell, and 2 grandsons, Ryan Barnes and Dontavis Tyrell Cooper.

 

Survivors include son, Dwight(Lisa ) Powell, daughters, Tonja Powell and Nicole(Calvin) Keys; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren;  5 sisters, Angela Jenkins, Lucille Jenkins, Patricia Jenkins, Rose Mary Jenkins, and Willie May Posey;  6 brothers, Darren Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Randolph Jenkins, Calvin Jenkins, David Jenkins and Herman Powell; 1 Godson, Gene (Johnny) Sullivan' 2 longtime friends, Beulah(Pearl) Paige and Annetta (Ann) Powell and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Interment was in the Venia Park Cemetery.  The eulogist was Elder Bonus Brown.
