Ms. Cheri Antoinette Strickland, 53, Collins, MS died on November 19, 2024, at Covington County Hospital, Collins, MS.
Ms. Strickland attended Congregation Church of God In Christ and Holiness of Collins Churches and later became a member of Greater Collins COGIC. She had a deep passion for singing and the upkeep of the church. She was endowed with many gifts and talents. She excelled in the Arts and enjoyed drawing and singing. Her artistic ability was recognized during her teenage years. She was employed at Sanderson Farms during the early years of her life. She later became a Certified Nursing Assistant. In addition to her many talents, she received her license in Hair Braiding
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Lee Strickland, Sr.; sister, Sharon Srickland-Wilson; granddaughter Laken Ivy-Ray Keyes; nephews, Anthony Eugene Wilson and Elijah Strickland; maternal grandparents, Wilene Davis-Thompson and Ernest Mead; paternal grandparents, Ollie Merle Strickland and Colee Strickland; aunt Carolyn Jea Booth; Jerry Madison.
Survivors include her mother, Janice Strickland, Collins, MS; sons, Kentrell Strickland, Mondarius Strickland, Canian Strickland, all of Collins and Ryan Strickland(fiancee, Tytiana, Gulfport, MS); daughters, Latrivia Ivy, Shanatalle Ivy, and Shannon Ivy, Collins; brothers, Edward Lee(Erica), Brookwood, AL, and Marcus (Ellen) Srickland, Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Jan Strickland,(Charles) Prewitt, Tieisha Strickland, Kalissa Strickland(Joseph Magee), all of Collins. Denise Strickland ( Tyrome) Baker, Purvis, MS; best friends, Tasha Jones and Mary Jo Barber; special friend, Gwen Hawthorn, and childhood sister, Carolyn Carter. as well as 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
