Mr. Devan Ray Ballard, 74, Hattiesburg, MS passed away on January 8, 2025.
Mr. Ballard was employed for 21 years at the University of Southern Mississippi and also worked for Service Master for 21 years until his health forced him to retire. He was a graduate of Leland High School and furthered his education at Mississippi Valley State University. He was a devoted member and deacon at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Saint E. Ballard. Sr. and Zula Mae Jordan and five siblings, Geneva Hughes, Frances Gordon,, Thelma Hales, Saint (Janelle) Ballard, and Bobby Jean (James) Goudy.
Survivors include his loving wife, Eartha Marie Ballard; daughters, Leslie R. Ballard and Elisha Burnside; sons, Corey D. Ballard, and Malo A. Jones and Coleo (Eria) Jones; sisters, Pearl Ester Jones, Johnie Pearl Frederick, and Alice Bell; mother in love, Hattie McNair; four sisters in love, Lavere Gentry, Sally Barlow, Landa Faye Oglesby and Diane Herbert; brother-in-law, Mitchell Gran; and his best friend(pet), Tay. 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
