He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Barnes, and sister, Carolyn Barnes.
Survivors include children, LaCandice May, Maleah Barnes, Adriana May, Ariana Magee, Dontavious Buckhalter, Shirod Magee, and Tristyn Maddix.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Quitman Pickering and Lucy M. Barnes; parents, Quitman Pickering and Lucy Barnes; sisters, Sarah Barnes and Luzane Crosby; brothers, Joe Barnes and Harold Barnes; grandchildren, Lailah Richardsm, Azariah Buckhalter, Ke'Andre Lindsey, and Ke'Sawn May and a host of other family members and friends.
