Douglas Eugene Lamb passed away on March 5, 2024, at the Collins Veterans Home, Collins, MS
Mr. Lamb was an avid student of The Word. He made his commitment to Christ and served The Lord at Zion Community Church of God, Oakvale, MS as an Adult Sunday School Teacher, and Usher. He also served in the State Church of God, Farmhaven District as a Youth Camp Counselor. His greatest aim was where he would spend eternity;
He was a student at Lincoln Attendance Center, Mount Olive, MS. where he was noted to be academically advanced. He was named Valedictorian of his eighth-grade class of 1963. Upon completion of ninth grade at Lincoln, he transferred to Carver Central High School, Collins, MS. He was a 1967 Honors Graduate of CHS, where he was named ACT Star Student. After graduation, he and his family moved to Los Angeles, CA where he completed two years of study at Los Angeles Southwest Community College to begin preparation for his potential life career as a Psychologist. He completed further studies at the University of Southern Mississippi
Mr. Lamb was drafted into the United States Army in 1970 and served two years as a Psychology Tech at Fort Ord, CA. He received an Honorable Discharge from the US Army in April 1972. After 25 years as a machinist, He retired from Warren Manufacturing Collins, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Magnolia Lamb; his in-laws, Costee and Benice Gamble, nephew, Laton Ghazlo; and a niece, Angel Easterling.
Survivors include his wife loving wife Connie Lamb; three children, Douglas Farrell Lamb( Kimberly), Madison, MS, Candice Ruffin(Joshua), Rosharon, TX, and Deidre Raquel Lamb, Bayton, TS; 9 grandchildren; brother, Travis Lamb, Salinas,, CA; three sisters, Alice Easterling(Eddie), San Jacinto, Ca, Betty Keys(Joey), LA, CA, and Mamie William, Azusa, CA and a host of other relatives and friends.
