Mrs. Emma Jean Rogers-Gardner,83 passed away on February 2, 2024.
Mrs. Gardner was active in church attendance. She joined a church in Oakland, CA and continued to be involved with various churches aboard while her husband served in the Navy. After moving back to Mississippi, she joined Greater Dry Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. where she served faithfully.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a licensed barber along with her husband; she enjoyed her clients hair and owned her own hair salon in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee "Red' Rogers and Ella Rogers; her husband, Paul M. Gardner, daughter, Pauline Gardner and sisters, Mary L. Edwards and Eunice S. Walker.
Survivors include her daughters, Gloria(WInston) Magee, Mount Olive, MS and Sarah Gardner, Mendenhall, MS. Sister, Cynthia McCullom, Florence, MS. Eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and one god-daughter. Two sisters-in-law, Martha Gardner, Long Beach, CA and Rose May Garnder, Brooklyn, NY ; brother-in -laws, Willie "W.S" Walker and Allen Edwards, both of Mendenhall. and Joe Gardner, Long Beach, CA. special friends/sisters, Bobbie J. Boykin and Ruth Dampier and a host of other family members, nieces and nephews.
