Mrs. Evelyn Johnson, Collins, MS, passed away on February 28, 2024.
Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully until her health failed. She was one of the dedicated Lead Cooks with Five County Head Start; as well as Johnny's Drive-In and the Junction.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rogers and Mary Bennett, husband, Johnny B. Johnson, daughter, Diane Jones, great-granddaughter, Chloe Gray, three sisters, and three brothers.
Survivors include daughters, Betty Keys and Sharon Johnson, both of Collins; Virginia Henry, Mary Johnson, and Meka Johnson, all of Hattiesburg, MS; and Kay Cooks, Gulfport, MS. Two sons, Johnny Ray Ingram ( Niecy) Hattiesburg; and Johnny Edward Johnson( Debbie) Collins. 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-great-grandchildren; one Godchild, Angela James, Collins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; three special friends, Laura Gammage, Annie Bell Barnes, and Laura Thompson.
