Mrs. Geneva McGowans "Bug" Coleman, 83, passed away at Arrington Living Center, Collins, MS on September 17, 2023.
Mrs. Coleman attended and graduated from Lincoln Attendance Center, Mount Olive, MS. After working at various jobs, she retired from Covington Needle Works, Taylorsville, MS. She was a free-spirited person, who enjoyed family gatherings and lived her life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Nettie J. McGowans; husband, Leory Coleman; grandchild, Carl; great-grandchild, Timmothy; siblings, Burnice, Buford Allen, Ray, Leroy, George, Emitt Earl, Mary Lois, and Melvin.
Survivors include children, Lorraine Keys (Ike), Shelton McGowans, all of Collins, Linnda Fay McCowans, Biloxi, MS and Wallace McGowans, Flint, MI; two sisters, Gertrude McGowans, Boston, MA, and Dorothy Sanders (Jamison), Magee, MS. Grandchildren Carlos (April), Tammy, Daniel, Alex, Yvette, and Erica' 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
