Mrs. Helen Ruth Klinghammer-Anderson, 90, Collins, MS(Providence Community) passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023.
Mrs. Klinghammer-Anderson joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was known for the many hats she wore while doing the church welcome. When her health begin to fail, she would watch televised church services and listen to gospel music.
She relocated to Chicago, Ill, Gary, Indiana, and Waterloo, Iowa and worked as a CNA. Upon her return to Mississippi, she worked various places from Collins to Hattiesburg, MS. Her calling was taking care of the elderly until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and yearly cruises with her niece, Gloria Rankin. She also enjoyed thrifting and would stop at every garage sale she ran across.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton and Claudia Coats; husband, John D. Anderson; son, Ricky Barnes; grandson, Andrew Klinghammer. Two brothers, Felton Coats, Sr., and Levi Coats. Two sisters, Mildred Allums, and May Etta Payton.
Survivors include her children, James(Ann) Edward Barnes, Frances (Wilton) McNair, Claudia (Dewayne)Miller, Rodney( Deborah) Barnes, Kim ( Mark) Klinghammer, Timothy (LaToya) Klinghammer, Terry( Lisha) Collins, David Anderson, Jackie Anderson, and Joe Floyd Anderson. A special sister-in-law, Vera Coats. Best friend, Viola Sailor. Special friend and in-law, Myrtle Scott. 41 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
