Mr. Henry A. Knight, Jr., MDS ( formerly of Hattiesburg, MS) passed away on April 19, 2024.
Mr. Knight attended high school in Hattiesburg, MS. where he enjoyed running track. After moving to Collins he was a member of Friendship COGIC. He later became a member of Zion Hill Church of God in Christ, Prentiss, MS and remained a member until his passing.
In March 1980 he joined the Mississippi Army National Guard and in 1985 he joined the United States Army. He served as a Staff Sergeant and was a Supply Technician at 1108th AVCRAD; he did a tour in Kuwait during the Gulf War and Iraq where he received several medals and awards for his dedicated service. He served in the Army for 32 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports, and attending church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Recce J. Longino and Henry Knight; three sisters, Freedia Felder, Diane Andrews, and Lisa Longino; one brother, Charles Knight; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Annie Mae McLaurin.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carol L. Knight; and one son, Christopher D. Knight; two sisters, Venessa Breenard and Patricia Longino; three brothers-in-law, Walter (Deidre) McLaurin, Mitchell McLaurin, and Richard (Melissa) McLaurin and a host of relatives and friends.
