Mr. Hilbert Fairley 83, Mount Olive, MS passed away on December 4, 2024, at Merit Health-Wesley, Hattiesburg, MS.
Mr. Fairley was a 1961 graduate of Carver Central High School, Collins, MS. He was a lifelong member of Rocky Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was baptized under the leadership of his father. He was very active in the choir and became a deacon under the leadership of Reverend William Chapman. He was employed with Collinswood Poultry Plant( currently Sanderson Farms); he also worked with a construction company in New Orleans, LA, and Magnetek Universal Manufacturing, Inc. where he retired. He also retired from the Covington County School District and Covington County Board of Supervisors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Saul, and Silvena Fairley; eight brothers and four sisters;
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Bonnie Jean Smith Fairley; son, Marcus (Lorna) Fairley, Mount Olive; daughters, Dawn Fairley, Gulfport, MS and Anice McCullumn, Collins. 3 granddaughters, Jessica Frazier, Magee, MS, Candace Fairley, Collins, and Ranketa Goudy, Collins.; 3 grandsons, Domonick (Dan) Crane, Houston, TX, Jonathan Goudy, and Cornelious Goudy, both of Collins; 2 step-granddaughters and one step-grandson;8 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren,; 4 sisters in law, Sherry Pauline Fairley, Collins, Annie Wheeler, Vera Willie) Quinn, and Gloria (Richard) Pope all of Magee, MS.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
