Mrs. Lisa Mclaurin McGowan passed away at her residence on March 10, 2024.
Mrs. McGowan was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church, playing softball with the Friendship Bandits, swimming at Dry Creek Water Park and game night with friends. She was a strong-willed and fun-spirited soul.Her life tenure was full of jokes, laughs, very playful and a heart of gold. She graduated from Collins High Schoolon May 18, 1984 where she developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for learning. She worked with the Covington County School District as a bus driver, Sanderson Farms, United States Department of Agriculture(USDA), Masonite in Laurel and as a security guard with Alliance in Collins, MS.
She was preceded in death by her father, L. J. McLaurin.
Surviviors include her mother, Dorothy Jean McLaurin; sons, Juar'reon McGowan and Jamal McGowan; sister, Wanda Gayle (Keith) Jones; special cousins, Angela (Glynn) Branch and Brenda ( Melvin) Jordan; special nephew, Kethonne (Brittani) McLaurin; other sisters, Terrie Mclaurin, Regina McLaurin, and Annie Dora McLaurin and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
