Mrs. Maxine Barnes, Mount Olive, MS served faithfully at New Hopewell MBC as a choir member, Mission, Sunday School teacher and a devoted member of the Heroine of Jericho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Barnes and Mary Lee Owens- Barnes; sisters, Avie Pickerling and Argie Lee Clark; brothers, W. M. Barnes, C. M. Barnes, and W. C. Brown.
Surviviors include her children, Mary (Victor) Agee, James(Emmer) Barnes, John ( Rosie) Barnes, Robert(Charlene) Barnes,all of Mount Olive, MS., and Edward Earl Barnes, Magee, MS. 14 Grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren.
One -great-grandchild, one godson; five sisters, Reba(Lavelle) Hayes, Evelena(Monroe) Sherman, all of Mt. Olive, Willie May Keyes, Gulfport, MS, Lucy Flowers, Laure, MS, Minnie Lee Sanders, Heidelbert, MS; two brothers, L. M. (Debra) Barnes, Gulfport, and Willie Ray Brown, Laurel, MS. Two aunts, two uncles, 6 brothers in law, 3 sisters in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
