Funeral services for Mr. Michael Magee, 65,  (December 6, 1957 - November 20, 2023),   were held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11AM from St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, Magee, MS.  Interment was in the church cemetery. 

 

Mr. Michael Magee, 65, Magee, MS, passed away on November 20, 2023.

 

Mr. Magee was a lifelong member of St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon until his health failed. He had a passion for singing. He was a successful business owner of chicken houses and cows. He enjoyed working on his farm.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ethel Magee; three brothers, James Magee, Sr., Ethel Magee, Jr., and Dartrell Wayne McGhee; one son, Derrick Dewayne Kemp.

 

Survivors include sons, Michael Magee and Jalen Magee, both of Mount Olive, MS;   Cedric Magee, Hattiesburg, MS, and Anthony ( Erica) Thompson, Montrose, MS;  his mother, Leola McCollum Magee, Mendenhall, MS.  Brothers, Ralph(Gwen) Magee, Detroit, MI, Erskin (Loretta) Magee, Sr., Hattiesburg, Karl (Felicia) Magee and Richard (Deborah) Magee, all of Mendenhall.  Sisters, Lutritia Lindsey, Marrero, LA, Tyrinda Magee, Collin s, Gwen ( James) Hobbs, Shirley Magee and Latasha (Jimmy) Holmes, all of Mendenhall, sisters in -law, Deitrich(James) Magee and Regina(Wayne) McGhee, Mendenhall, 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three aunts, one uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins , relatives and friends.
